President-elect Donald Trump’s speech at the AmFest in Arizona on Sunday was temporarily interrupted when he heard what he described as a “strange sound” while speaking to his MAGA followers. The comment came during his usual rhetoric about undocumented migrants, where he had been discussing the security concerns at the southern border.
Trump, who has been vocal about immigration issues throughout his campaign, was speaking about the dangers posed by migrants when the sound broke his flow. “We had an open border,” he said, before describing migrants as “gang members, drug dealers, drug addicts, people that were sick, people that were healthy and strong.”
As he was making his point, a noise interrupted him, prompting Trump to stop mid-sentence and look around. “What the hell was that?” he asked, visibly startled. “You get the little yips up here every once in a while.” The remark seemed to reflect his confusion about the noise, adding, “I wonder why it was a strange sound. I’ve heard some very strange sounds.”
After the brief pause, Trump quickly refocused and resumed his speech. He continued to emphasize his hardline stance on immigration, promising to expel every “foreign gang member” and vowing to take swift action on the cartels. “Every foreign gang member will be expelled,” he said, continuing, “and I will immediately designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. We’re going to do it immediately.”
Despite the brief interruption, Trump pressed on with his speech, reiterating his commitment to border security and presenting a tough stance on immigration that resonates strongly with his supporters. His remarks reflect the ongoing concerns within the MAGA movement about illegal immigration and the perceived threats posed by foreign nationals crossing the border into the United States.
